Tommaso Pollio – Musician, Composer & Teacher (Perth, WA)
Tommaso Pollio is a distinguished pianist, composer, and educator based in Perth, Western Australia. A graduate with honours in piano performance from the University of Western Australia School of Music, Tommaso furthered his studies in the United States and London, refining his artistry and deepening his musical expertise.
His extensive performance career has taken him to prestigious venues around the world, including London, Singapore, Malaysia, Italy, and the United States. He has appeared regularly as both a soloist and accompanist, with recordings featured on ABC’s Young Australia and Sunday Live programs. Tommaso has been a valued member of the WA Academy of Performing Arts and is highly regarded as a répétiteur, having worked with Opera Australia, the West Australian Opera, and the Lucca Opera Festival in Italy.
Renowned for his versatility, Tommaso is in high demand as a cabaret pianist and has performed at Fringe festivals globally. He is the co-founder of several innovative musical groups and initiatives, including Lark Chamber Opera (with composer Emma Jayakumar), Musicbook Stories, and the Chimera Ensemble. He also serves as music director for Freeze Frame Opera, where his award-winning chamber arrangements of classic operas—crafted for the unique ensemble of accordion, clarinet, cello, and piano—have received critical acclaim.
